We always like food on a skewer. It is fun to eat. This week we had a long weekend in Singapore, but didn’t plan to travel anywhere other than nearby places. I prepared this BBQ skewers for an evening and it was a really simple and yummy treat to spend an evening.

This is a really easy & simple dessert and reminds me Sri Lankan curd & treacle. In Sri Lanka, Curd with Treacle is a signature dessert which most people love to eat. The Southern part of Sri Lanka is more popular to produce high quality curd. If you travel Sri Lanka, don’t forget to try Sri Lankan Curd & Treacle!

Drinkable Fruit Salad
|Drinkable Fruit Salad|
This drinkable fruit salad is an Ecuadorian Recipe. Found that it is called as Come y bebe, which means ‘eat and drink’. I had some fruits available at home & thought of preparing this fruit salad. This is a very simple & easy recipe which can be served as a drink or as a dessert.

This is a very simple and easy Carrot Salad from Sri Lanka. It takes few minutes to prepare. I usually add this carrot salad to our meal due to its easiness & health factors. To steam carrot, I use the steam tray of the rice cooker, so once the rice is cooked, carrot is ready to go to the salad. Boiled carrot can be used instead of steamed carrot. But steaming saves its nutrients.
Here is the recipe for simple carrot salad. Hope you would love it!

I am back with a recipe for Valentine’s day. It is too early to post recipes for Valentine’s day, but I feel bit lazy to start work after a holiday in Sri Lanka. This is a simple recipe using Guava and Agar Agar.
I brought some Guava (Pera) from Sri Lanka and want to utilize them in different recipes other than eating them raw. These small guavas taste much than the bigger sized one.

Corn Recipes are always delicious with its creamy taste. In Sri Lanka, we always like to eat fresh corn cobs after boil in water.(Commonly called as ‘Bada Iringu’).Boiled Bada Iringu is a common street food in Sri Lanka, specially when we travel for long trips towards the southern part of Sri Lanka. I was lucky enough to eat fresh corn just after picked from the plant. Now, here in Singapore, I still buy corn cobs and try to adapt them in recipes. But GMO is something I am not very sure in these products.

I recently made this Peanut Butter Pinwheels. Actually I found the recipe from bigredkitchen.com .The taste is so yummy & so sweet, but addictive. I am not a huge fan of sweet things. My friends know, I rarely eat toffees, candy etc. BUT,I loved this. I couldn’t stop eating them. If you are a fan of Peanut Butter, I am sure you would love this candy.

Recently I entered into the ‘Fall Carving Contest 2012’ organised by Selena @garnishfood.blogspot.com. This ‘Rock Melon Centrepiece’ is my submission. Winners were selected by votes. Thanks dear friends for voting me. However the contest was very competitive & I could not gain much votes to be eligible to one of top three winners.
BUT, for my surprise, I was selected for The Beginner's Award. It is really exciting & encouraging me as a beginner. I was given with the’ Fruit Carving How-To DVD’ from TempleofThai.com & my gift is on the way to Singapore.
I thought of sharing how I did this fruit garnishing with a very simple tool.Hope all you beginners will enjoy this & think of preparing a centrepiece in your next occasion.

Making popcorn in a microwave is not a new recipe. Anyway I found it recently & started to make them at home. This is a ridiculously easy recipe.
I did this again yesterday during my office lunch time. Yes, I have started to share my recipes with my colleagues. :) We have a plan to cook something new in each week. Anyway it is a challenge as I have to consider many things while selecting a recipe. It must be easy, must suit with tastes of friends from different Nationalities, must be able to cook using the few utensils at office, must be with less ingredients etc etc
