I like Ice Lemon Tea, but so far I didn’t try it at home.Few days ago I tried homemade Iced Lemon Tea with the high quality Ceylon Black tea I received recently.For this tea I used the samples from Dimbula Region(grown between 4000ft-6000 ft). Anyway, if you check my previous post about how to make a cup of tea, I shared some information about Ceylon Tea, which is popular as the best black tea of the world. Not only for plain tea, Ceylon black tea can be used in different tea recipes.

With added banana, this smoothie becomes more rich and creamy. Even I heard that this is good as a weight loss smoothie. This is a simple drink recipe using watermelons and oranges. Watermelon is another favourites at our home, most of the weeks we buy some watermelons due to its refreshing taste. In this drink, I tried watermelon with orange juice and taste was so good. Not only the taste, I like its appearance and bright colour too.

Papaya/(Gaslabu) is a delicious fruit with its sweet and rich taste. It is not only healthy, but  is loaded with antioxidant nutrients , B vitamins, folate and the minerals.This is a popular fruit in Sri Lanka and easily available.
I miss that real taste of Sri Lankan Papaya,which is so creamy and sweet! Unfortunately I have to add sugar  or any sweetener to get that taste on my papaya juice here.If you visit Sri Lanka,dont forget to try some Papaya!Sure you would love it!

Orange Milkshake


  

After the holidays I am in a lazy mood. Even I do not have a mood to write a blog post. Just thought of sharing this Orange Milkshake recipe.





Ingredients (for 2)


2 Oranges
1 cup whole milk
Sugar to taste (optional)

Directions

Extract juice of oranges.

Mix milk & Orange  together.
Add some more milk as per your taste.
Chill & garnish before serve

Pomegranate Smoothie


Pomegranate is a fruit with many benefits. There are many recipes on how to consume it, anyway making a smoothie is somewhat a simple & easy recipe.
Here is a simple recipe of making a smoothie from pomegranate.

Ingredients
Juice of a pomegranate
1 cup of unflavored yogurt
Sugar to taste (optional)
Some water

Method
To extract the juice of a pomegranate,
1.Cut & open the pomegranate. Remove the seeds from the skin.
2.Put the seeds in a blender & blend until seeds are broken.
3.Place a strainer on a bowl & pour the blended mixture through  the strain .
4.Get the juice as much as possible. Press the remaining pulp on the strainer to get more juice.


After that,
Place pomegranate juice & yogurt together in a blender & blend it.
Add some water if need to make it more thin.
Add sugar if required.
Serve immediately.

Notes:
Pomegranate stains in anything. So be careful when working with it
Use a clean cloth & squeeze the blended pomegranate pulp through it. In this way, you can take more juice.

Pears smoothie

Pears are rich with vitamins. And they are always good when it is fresh. I just tried a smoothie with it. Yes, it was delicious.


Here is the recipe

Ingredients (serve 2 glasses)

1 fresh pear
1 orange
1 banana
1 plain yogurt
Fresh milk
Some blueberries to garnish (optional)


Method
It is better if you can keep the fruits in the fridge for about 1 hour to chill before preparing the smoothie.
Peel the skin of pear & banana & cut into pieces.
Extract the juice of the orange.
Mix all ingredients (pear, banana, orange juice & yogurt) in a blender & blend until smooth.
If you feel the puree is too thick, add some fresh milk.

Pear smoothie is ready now. Garnish with some fresh blueberries.
Serve & enjoy.

Mango Milkshake

Mango is a fruit which we cannot resist.Here is the recipe of how mango can be used to prepare milkshake.



Ingredients (for 2)


2 ripe Mangos
1 cup whole milk
Sugar to taste (optional)

Directions

Wash, Clean & remove skin of mangos
Cut into pieces
Mix milk & mango pieces together in a blender & blend until smooth.
If you feel this is to thick,add some more milk as per your taste
Chill & garnish before serve

Orange Juice

Orange Juice is a more popular & easy to make drink.If we talk about benifits of oranges,basically it is rich with vitamin C.

Ingredients (For 2 glasses)

4 oranges
2-3 tsp sugar
1 ½ cup cold water

Directions

Get the juice of oranges manually or using a squeezer.
Strain the seeds.
Meanwhile add sugar to water & stir, dissolve it.
Add orange juice to it.
Mix well

Dragon fruit Smoothie


Dragon fruit is a wonderful fruit which contains a lot of health benefits. It comes with three varieties. Two varieties are with red skin & red or white flesh. Other type is yellow skin with white flesh.
I found that dragon fruit is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C,B and also rich with minerals & calcium.
Here I have used the white flesh variety for my smoothie



Ingredients
1 dragon fruit, peeled and diced
1 banana
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup water

Method
Blend all together in a blender.
Add ice cubes if you want it in cold.


Serve & enjoy.
(This smoothie will be colourfull if you use the red variety.But for this photos I have used the variety which inside is white, check my post Dragon fruit drink for red variety)

Banana Grape Smoothie




2 ripe banana
2 handfuls purple seedless Grapes
1 cup ice
1/4 cup milk
1 cup plain yogurt

For better taste, keep the bananas & grapes in a freezer at least 30 minutes before preparation.

Then add the bananas and grapes into a blender

Add yogurt and mix until it is a smooth liquid.

Add the ice and blend until crushed. 

Then add milk, until you receive the desired thickness of drink. 

Serve immediately

Watermelon Milkshake



This is a good drink for the summer.Anyway watermelon is my favourite,so I always have it either as fruit itself or as a drink.
Here is the easy watermelon milkshake recipe.

Ingredients: (for 2 portions)

4 cups of watermelon,cut into pieces
1 cup of vanila ice cream




Method:

Blend watermelon & ice cream in a blender until you get a smooth drink



Serve with ice cubes or after chill or at the same time.

Enjoy!!

Orange Banana Yogurt Smoothie



This drink is rich in nutrients & it is good for not only sunny days but for everyday!!!

Ingredients (For2 servings )
2  oranges
2 medium frozen ripe bananas, cut into pieces(To freeze bananas,peel it and place in a sealed bag & refregirate for about 1 hr)
1  vanilla yogurt

Method


Cut oranges & take the juice.


Place juice and bananas in blender container.


Cover and blend until smooth.


Then add yogurt and blend until smooth.


Pour into glasses & serve...

Enjoy!!!
